Year 3 and 4 recently visited Ilkley as part of their Geography topic. They were using orienteering skills to find places on a map and taking photos at given grid references. They were later fuelled by ice-cream allowing them to hike up the Cow and Calf. The children enjoyed sketching the magnificent views and listening to the local folklore ‘Rombald the Giant’.  A fantastic trip all round, despite some very tired legs!

We were very pleased to welcome parents, prospective parents and guests to a special Science Discovery Day.  The children very much enjoyed taking part in various activities both indoors and outdoors.

As part of their Science topic, ‘Plants and Animals’, Years 1 and 2 went on a school trip to Meanwood Valley Urban Farm.  The children took part in a variety of activities, such as building a minibeast den and pond dipping. The children used nets and sample trays to discover the animals in the pond.  They were helped to identify animals and given a guided tour of the farm.  It was a very enjoyable trip.

This half term, the Reception Class went on their first school trip to Rodley Reserve! We had a lovely time fishing for tadpoles, searching for ladybirds and exploring the meadows in the sunshine. We even got to see a swan, with five baby signets! It was lots of fun.
